Caring for your fashion jewelry

GOLD FILLED is made by fusing a layer of 14kt gold to a base metal - usually brass - that results in a permanent bond. The gold layer on gold-filled products is thicker and will wear better than gold plated products.

Although gold-filled items are considered hypoallergenic, some people who are especially sensitive to metals may still have allergic reactions to it.

Although 14k Gold Filled jewelry will not tarnish easily but it will get dirty. The oils from your skin transfer to the metal and need to be washed off periodically.

The easiest way to clean your jewelry is to scrub it with soft toothbrush and mild soap. Rinse well with lukewarm water, pat dry, and air dry.

Make sure your jewelry is completely dry before storing.

PLATED Fashion jewelry is stylish and wallet-friendly, but is also very delicate.  The amount of tarnishing that occurs is dependent on the skin and care habits of the wearer.  So to prevent them from tarnishing or turning black, follow the below simple tips.

  • Put on jewelry last when dressing and take off first when undressing.
  • Always wipe your jewelry with a soft cloth eg.spectacle cloth, after worn. This cloth will absorb the sweat or salt water that comes out from our body.
  • Store jewelry in sealable plastic bags/ container will help prevent metals from tarnishing.
  • Remove jewelry before shower, bath, swimming, and/or applying products (e.g., perfume, hairspray, soap, or lotion) as this could harm the metal and reduce the life of the plating, as well as cause discoloration.

Be mindful that they are still fashion jewelry. The plating may wear off over time as it is only a coating, so practicing care will help a great deal in prolonging their lifespan.
